The 'Mexicola Grande' avocado is of the Mexican cultivar. It is small and shaped like an egg with a thin, black-purple skin and flavorful nutty flesh. Avocados are eaten in dips, raw, on salads, and we know folks who juice them in their health food drinks.

Mexicola Grande is a Type A avocado, which means that its female flowers bloom on the morning of the first day, close in the evening, and reopen as male flowers on the afternoon of the second day. Most avocados are considered self fertile, but planting with a Type B cultivar such as Joey will increase fruit set.
