Also called "Rattail Crassula" or "Zipper Plant", c. muscosa is another trailing member of the crassula genus. 'Muscosa' is derived from the Latin word for "mossy," referencing the plant's closely stacked leaves and low-growing habit, making it resemble certain types of moss. "Watch Chain" crassula is a stunning plant either by itself or as an accent in a mixed container.
In warmer climates (above USDA zone 9) Crassula will grow outdoors into a small shrub, but because it is happy in lower light conditions than many of the other succulents, it really shines as a low maintenance indoor plant. When grown indoors, this plant stays small and its woody branches even lend themselves to bonsai type planting and pruning. Once your plant is mature, it can easily be propagated from stem cuttings.
