A good tree/ large shrub addition to your garden that doubles it's usefulness by rewarding you with it's edible fruit. Deciduous and rapid growing, we have seen mature trees over 25 feet tall and almost 2/3 that wide. Locals around Rabbit Ridge Nursery have always said that when the fig tree leafed out, summer was finally here to stay. Fruits can be eaten right off the tree or made into fruit preserves for that morning piece of toast or muffin. Often in the very late fall, when we open up the Nursery early in the morning, we'll see where the local deer have been wandering through the fig plants and eating the remaining fruits still on the plant.
