Ledebouria pauciflora “Green Squill" ("pauciflora" = few-flowered) is a very easy to grow and quite eye catching bulb succulent with knock out foliage. The bulb is easy to see as it grows quite high above the soil, thereby exposing the teardrop shaped bulb and its papery covering. From this bulb sprout thin lanceolate (shaped like a lance and pointed on both ends) leaves that are patterned with green and silver blotches. They present as a pair, opposite – sometimes three – delicately pale and fleshy. Squill can tolerate low light and make an easy, low maintenance house plant. Come spring, it will send up an inflorescence of greenish flowers. It is native to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.

WARNING: All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested.
