Pachyphytum (PAK-kee-FI-tum)
Crassulaceae
Relatives: Crassula, Kalanchoe, Sempervivum, Cotyledon
Pachyphytum is a small genus of succulents the family Crassulaceae and is native to Mexico, at elevations from 2,000 to 4,900 feet. The name comes from the ancient Greek pachys (thick) and phyton (plant) because of the shape of the leaves. Make sure to keep your plant in a sunny place where it gets enough sunlight. Water the potted Pachyphytum only when you feel the soil is completely dry. Avoid watering it when the soil still feels moist or else your fragile succulent will be damaged.
