"Succulent" is a general term for any plant with fleshy, thickened leaves or stems which they use to store water, allowing them to grow in a variety of harsh, unforgiving locations. As such, succulents come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and from a number of different plant families which we unfortunately cannot fully break down on a single web page.
